The US Composting Council (USCC) is a national, nonprofit organization promoting the recycling of organic materials through composting. As a growing, professional organization, the USCC has worked with Kalico to brand their annual conference materials over the past several years. For their 2017 conference, we had to figure out a way to visually portray the conference’s new event location, Los Angeles; work in a historical aspect to celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary AND, figure out a way to depict the idea of compost into everything as well.
Since USCC was celebrating an anniversary, and was ready to explore some new options with their conference collateral, we decided to take the overall visuals into a very fun and bright concept. We used vintage postcards as our inspiration, combining images of LA with natural elements. The vintage look brought in a playful feel, but also gave a subtle nod to the 25th anniversary historical aspect.
Once a general look was established, we introduced USCC to a few new marketing materials to promote their conference, both for attendees and exhibitors/sponsors. We created a brochure to entice sponsorships, which also highlighted the benefits of exhibiting and attending. We also created a conference landing page site for the organization so that all materials could have a direct and concise web url devoted to conference information only, Additional materials included tradeshow banners, print ads, postcards, enews graphics, social media graphics and more.
