The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) needed a new look for their membership magazine, The NAVTA Journal. The magazine is written by and for industry professionals, so articles tend to have a medical angle, with a lot of details, charts and graphs. Our goal was to present a visually appealing layout, while still maintaining the professional standard.
We worked closely with NAVTA to learn more about their membership and readership base, as well as trends in the vet tech and/or vet nursing industry. We also did extensive research on imagery and photography sources, as well as brainstorm ways to re-organize the publication’s content.
The new NAVTA Journal is an overall professional and sophisticated publication, with large photographic elements partnered with a clean and simplified layout. Departments and Continuing Education features have been re-structured throughout, with branded looks, so readers can easily find specific article topics they are looking for. NAVTA has increased their ad sales since the launch of the newly designed publication. We continue to work with NAVTA to produce magazine issues on a bi-monthly basis.
